Flu

Feeling too ill to go to the provider? You don’t have to.
Stay in bed and let ExpressCare treat your flu at home.

Is it the Flu?

If you’re having these symptoms, ExpressCare can help…

  • high fever
  • muscle aches
  • sore throat
  • cough, bringing up phlegm
  • feeling tired
  • loss of appetite
  • runny nose
  • headache

These symptoms are consistent with the flu. The flu is very common this time of year (and very unpleasant!). But don’t worry, ExpressCare can help:

Choose to see a provider now over video, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and be seen by a provider in less than five minutes. The provider will look you over, give advice, and prescribe any medications you may need to feel better. ExpressCare staff will work with your provider for any follow-up care. If you do not have a provider, we will help you find one who is right for you.

You May be too Sick to Stay at Home…

Most flu-like illnesses are safe to manage at home. But your provider will review your symptoms and your medical history to help make sure that’s smart for you. We will help make arrangements to get you to the hospital or a provider’s office if needed.

Sometimes, flu symptoms can progress even further, leading to advanced symptoms that require emergency care, such as:

  • high fever
  • muscle aches
  • difficulty breathing
  • severe vomiting
  • fever above 104
  • chest congestion
  • feeling tired
  • loss of appetite
  • onset of confusion or weakness
  • turning blue
  • inability to drink fluids

If Your Flu is Left Untreated…

Left untreated, the flu can lead to complications such as severe dehydration, pneumonia, or the spread of new infection. If you’re experiencing any symptoms of the flu, seek medical treatment ASAP to avoid advanced symptoms that can lead to long-term complications.

But don’t wait to call us, and call 911 right away if you start feeling very short of breath, confused, or too weak to sit up by yourself.
