What is ExpressCare?

ExpressCare is a fast, easy way for patients to see a provider for common physical, mental, emotional, and behavioral health issues that are not emergencies.

Choose to see a provider now over video 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You must be in New York State at the time of your visit. You can also visit a NYC Health and Hospitals in-person center in your neighborhood. No appointment needed (see our locations below).

We speak your language. ExpressCare provides interpretation in over 200 languages.

Care doesn’t end with your visit. ExpressCare staff will work with your provider for any follow-up care. If you do not have a provider, we will help you find one who is right for you.

Affordable Care

NYC Health + Hospitals is committed to delivering high-quality health care to all New Yorkers, regardless of their income or immigration status.

ExpressCare accepts most insurance plans.

Patients with insurance may need to pay a copay depending on their insurance coverage, including our affordable health plan, MetroPlus Health. Without insurance, you may qualify for an insurance option or NYC Care. Call 646-NYC-CARE or 646-692-2273 or click Speak to an Agent Now, below.

If patients cannot afford to pay or are uninsured, Virtual ExpressCare will provide care and connect patients to trained financial counselors who can help them enroll in health insurance coverage or financial assistance through NYC Care, Medicaid, and Medicare, with per visit fees as low as $0, depending on patients’ income and family size.

You can always talk to an ExpressCare provider from the comfort of your home. However, if you think you need to be seen in person, head to one of our neighborhood locations across New York City.
